What started on September 17th, 2011 in Zuccotti Park, New York, lingers on and continues to promote a stand against social injustice across America. What I recorded on October 8th, 2011 at Zuccotti Park, was a record of a personal experience, nothing less.
I’ve visited Zuccotti Park, only a few times, during the time that the protestors were still allowed to camp in the park, and this particular time was no different… just a day in the life of the “99%” – those who protested and camped in the park, those who came to visit and those who wore police uniforms and kept circulation flowing. Some people would donate food and clothes to help the protestors, others would sing or hold hands in prayer, many simply observed, some would ask questions and take handouts, I decided to just take pictures.
My intention was never to disrupt or change what I saw and experienced, but to merely record the moments that portrayed my subject matter best within context that was created by Occupy Wall Street.
